Educational supplements

Educational supplements

As part of the Aflatoun International curricula, Edukanvas developed three complementary supplements. The themes were Violence Prevention, Child Protection and Community Engagement. This was a co-creation process with the members of the network. The activities in the supplements are to be implemented by teachers or facilitators, by children with their families or by organisations with the families.


Education for Justice

With the United Nations Office for Drugs and Corruption (UNODC), Edukanvas developed the training manual for the Education for Justice Initiative in secondary education level. This training programme is to be implemented in person as well as online in several countries. Education for Justice is currently being implemented in hundreds of schools with thousands of children and young people around the world.


Facilitation skills training

In order to strengthen the training skills of new staff of Child Helpline International, Edukanvas led a training on facilitation skills. The training included sessions such as reflection on how it is to facilitate vs participate. Additionally, other sessions were included such as training preparation, training strategies and how to set up training programmes.


Feasibility study and training in mexico, Honduras and panama

With Child Helpline International and UNICEF Mexico, UNICEF Honduras and UNICEF Panama, Edukanvas has supported with the development of the Feasibility Study for the creation of a child helpline in Mexico, the training programme for Mexico and Honduras and the Route-map document for Panama. The studies and trainings involved several stakeholders from each country such as Ministries and other institutional bodies with relevance in Child Protection. This work was delivered in Spanish.


NETWORK Development

The programme Love Matters is a Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) programme implemented by RNW Media and its country teams. In order to increase sustainability and learning, Edukanvas is supporting the development of the Love Matters Global Network as well as its franchise model. The assignments comprises the creation of a Governance Manual, a Service Fee agreement, Memorandum of Understanding and the indicators framework for members.


Global Mobile Mentor for teachers for teacheRs (T4T)

The goal of this project was to support continuous teacher professional development project, through peer coaching in Kakuma refugee camp and Kalobeyei settlement in Kenya through mobile mentoring (WhatsApp). This project was developed and implemented by the Teachers College of the Columbia University in New York with a selection of coaches that worked remotely from around the world.


Project Management - This is Africa handover

This is Africa (TIA) is a leading pan-African digital media platform that various digital tools to provide credible information about the continent. This project was running under RNW Media but with the capacity built over time, the team was ready to take off as an independent organisation. Edukanvas supported with the handover process, both programmatic and digital.

Translation of Institutional Strengthening Guide

Catholic Relief Services has developed an Institutional Strengthening Guide as a reference for organisations that want to develop or strengthen institutional processes. The document was translated by Edukanvas into Portuguese. The guide presents principles, minimum standards, best practices, business processes, references and tools for effective, efficient and sustainable organisations.
